Hi. My name is Matt Herron. I'm a student at St Louis Community College.

And I am Jason menner. I'm a second year student at St Louis Community College at Florissant Valley. Today I'll be showing you a little bit about what the day in the life of a student leader looks like. I usually get to campus around 845, for my first class, which is Spanish, two at nine o'clock.

Hi, good. How are you guys doing?

My first class here on campus today is communications between cultures starts at 10 o'clock. I like to get here a little early to get a good seat.

Many times after class, I like to stop in here at the black male achievers lab. This lab is a student organization on campus. It's really important to me because there's a very tight knit community that comes with the black male achievers. We're here to make each other better. We're also here to support each other through any challenges that life brings us.

After my last class, I meet with the other members of the Student Government organization where I currently serve as president. We meet up and begin to organize for the rest of the week. Some of the most beneficial things for being student government association president is to learn how to delegate opportunities between other students and to learn how to cooperate with other individuals, to generally make improvements across the campus.

For all the students, on days that I don't meet with SGA, we get to meet with the business club, and that's a lot of fun, because we get to go to different networking events and business conferences around the area and meet with community leaders in business and talk about their experience, and we get to network with them. And a lot of us gain internships as well. It's just overall, been a great opportunity to have fun and learn a lot about business leaders in our community.

Later in the afternoon, I clock into my job here at trio. Trio is a student support service system that works with a various amount of students that have different needs. Our role is to help with a lot of different things, such as advising, workshops, peer mentoring and things of that nature. So here my job is a peer leader, but we also have peer mentors and academic coaches as well. Thanks for letting me show you a little bit about the day of my life as a student leader.
